Data Sources
US Census Bureau
Population estimates and ACS migration data. Updated annually.
Bureau of Labor Statistics
Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW). Updated quarterly.
Census Building Permits Survey
Residential building permits authorized by MSA. Updated monthly.
IRS Statistics of Income
Tax return migration data showing county-to-county flows. Updated annually.
Algorithm Weights
Data Freshness
Scores are recalculated quarterly using the latest available data from each source. Last updated: 2026-04-05.
